Valter Hugo Mãe E João Vaz

Valter Hugo Mãe Valter Hugo Mãe was born in Saurino, Angola in 1971. The writer has already published five novels including O Filho de Mil Homens launched in 2011. His work goes from children’s books to the lyrics for several bands and musicians, he also has relevant poetic works compiled in the volume Contabilidade. His work has been rewarded on several occasions, in 2009 he won the trophy Figura do Futuro by Correio da Manhã; in 2010 he was rewarded with the Camilo Castelo Branco feather and the medal of Singular Merit of Vila do Conde. João Vaz de Carvalho João Vaz de Carvalho was born in 1958 in Fundão, Portugal. He works in several different areas, from painting to illustrations. In illustration he has several jobs in cartoon , children and illustrations for newspapers and magazines. Since 1988 the artist has been working with several publications like Diário de Noticias, magazine Exame, amongst many others. Recently the artist has presented his paintings in art galleries around the country, mainly in Lisbon. João Vaz Carvalho’s work is highly recognized, he has received many national and international awards, such as the Honorable Mention of the World Press Cartoon 2010 in Sintra, and in 2011 he has received the Honorable Mention of Eurofruitcartoonale, Sint Truiden in Belgium.
