Carsten Gollnick was born in 1966 in Berlin and graduated in Industrial Design from the School of Fine Arts in Braunschweig in 1992. He refers to his professional experience in South Korea in 1996 as having been determinant in the conceptual evolution of his work. In 2002 he sets up in his hometown, where he currently heads his own company, Carsten Gollnick Design – a benchmark for quality and innovation in product design and interior design. Carsten Gollnick, the creator of a "culture of objects", has a remarkable history, which includes several Red Dot Design Awards and iF Design Production Awards as well as an inclusion in the International Design Yearbook 2001, among many other distinctions. He has been collaborating with Vista Alegre since 2010.
