Born in 1967, south of the Tagus River, he creates his array of flavours with the influence of the Alentejo region. His path has taken him to the most well-known restaurants and has led him to open his own spaces: Tasca da Esquina and Cervejaria da Esquina, in Lisbon. Two landmark spaces where Portugal is served at the table with a generous dose of innovation and inspiration. His Tasca da Esquina creates a bridge between Portugal and Brazil, with doors now open also in S. Paulo, with activity in Luanda also underway. As recognition of his efforts and talent, Chef Vitor Sobral has received, among many other acknowledgements, the rank of Comendador da Ordem do Infante D. Henrique, in March 2006. He is a gastronomic chef consultant for several renowned brands such as TAP, Vista Alegre, Silampos, Oliveira da Serra, Norge, Vinhos Paulo Laureano, among others, also collaborating with some restaurants. In addition, his willingness to share knowledge with the Portuguese continues, whether in terms of giving training or publishing books.
