Roberto Chichorro was born in 1941 in Maputo and took an Industrial course in Civil Construction, with his route being marked by diversity. He worked as a decorator of pavilions and as an advertising designer and architecture, set designer, illustrator and ceramicist. It was however in the fine arts that he acquired greater reputation, settling in Lisbon and devoting himself exclusively to painting since 1986. His works are exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lisbon, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Luanda, among others. The work of Roberto Chichorro is long recognized, and, among numerous distinctions, he was awarded prizes at the Salon of Modern Art, in Luanda, and the Biennale in Óbidos.
