Born in Padua in 1950, Paolo Favaretto graduated in architecture at the University of Venice. In 1973, he founded his own design studio, named Favaretto & Partners. Designer and consultant for the industrial sector, Paolo Favaretto has worked in partnership with several prestigious companies, both Italian and international, and gained important awards and distinctions. Paolo Favaretto has been chairman of the Regional Delegations of the Industrial Design Association (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale – ADI) for the Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige regions, founder and president of the Italian Institute for Design and Disability (Istituto Italiano per il Design e la Disabilità – IIDD) (currently known as DFA – Design For All) and a board member of DFA Europe, currently represented by ADI-BEDA – Bureau of European Design Associations. He is also a member of the scientific committee of European project IDIA – Inclusive Design and Intelligent Technology for Accessible Workplaces. A speaker in various conferences, Paolo Favaretto has also lectured at several international universities and design institutes, within the scope of degree courses, namely the Industrial Design Course of the Polytechnic University of Milan, the IUAV University of Venice, the Italian Design School of Padua, the National College of Art and Design, in Dublin, and the University Consortium for Business Organisation Studies (Consorzio Universitario per gli Studi di Organizzazione Aziendale – CUOA), in Vicenza. Many of his works have been featured in design books and some of the most important magazines. A monograph entitled “Paolo Favaretto, industrial designer”, by Alberto Bassi, was published by Il Polígrafo in 2007.
